You don't need to do DNS setup for restoring from backup.

To address the initial question, I managed to get hold of a Mac and it seems I can see OVH just fine in Safari. I also tried Chrome and that works too.

I was looking at dedicated servers on the OVH website using another browser and half the page wouldn't load, specifically the server configuration tool, switched to Chrome and it worked.
