Instead of Odoo, I suggest Flectra:

Great! Somebody is taking action. Fantastic.

But please note @girish @samir - The current work focuses on packaging an old version of Odoo!
For some reason it is being packaged for Odoo version 10.
In that case release a package for all the latest 4 major versions 10, 11, 12 and 13
Latest version (2020) is version 13.

              Odoo would be great.

Just adding that there's a de-branded version at Yunohost called LibreERP for interest:

              YMMMV though.

Anything we can do to help this? I do feel it would be a very attractive USP for Cloudron as I've not seen a better way to get Odoo CE setup and replicated. I think you'll find is as valuable as Nextcloud for being the best of the bunch in Accounting, CRM & ERP.

This would be a great addition to the current app list, something really useful to help bootstrap young entrepreneurs & sme's. can wait to test this out !
last time I ran Odoo was at least some 6 versions ago !

IIRC, the main challenge with Odoo was it is more like a framework on which you install apps. This makes it inherently difficult to maintain and package 😞

@girish in terms of built-in app updates what is the difference with Nextcloud ?

@girish I don't think it'd be much different to Wordpress in that respect, it's just plugins and themes.

@girish ERPNext might be easier in that regard? ☺

Having used both. ERPNext is a great idea and everything it says it is - but Odoo is fundamentally different in many ways.

They both have value, it's not an either/or choice and I wouldn't dismiss Odoo because ERPNext claims to be equivalent, it's not.

Plugins, GAP Accounting and Pivot Tables are all unique to Odoo.

It's like comparing Ghost to Wordpress. Similar but also very different.

@samir Any progress update on this?

                                Do you need help?

Did you see my issue mentioned above?

What will it take to roll this out with a newer version?

Would it work to replace the shell script in your Cloudron package with one that points towards Odoo v14?
                                Here is the script: https://github.com/Yenthe666/InstallScript/blob/14.0/odoo_install.sh

@girish Would you know the answer?
