<p dir="auto">I'm not seeing stuff in the app logs about it - any ideas?<br />
it is a multisite</p>
<p dir="auto">Is the best option to SFTP replace the files?</p>

<p dir="auto">just wanted to confirm this is indeed the case. when the WP developer package is updated, it only affects the version of new/fresh installations and does not affect the existing WP installation . I have put in a note to make future changelogs clearer about this.</p>

The manual wordpress update went smoothly after removing that plugin.</p>

That happens for me too but I believe that’s intentional as the developer edition is meant to provide more control to the admins. With that said, I also have all auto-updates (within WordPress including core) disabled, so that may be part of it too (especially if that’s how you’ve configured it as well).</p>
