• Create an account.
• Go to settings.
• Click on "Cloudron Instances".
• Give your instance a name (just for labeling), add your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and save.
• Click on "Access Tokens", add a token, give it a name and an expiration date, and copy the token.
• Go to your Cloudron instance -> System -> Docker (https://my.example.org/#/docker) and add a new registry.
• Fill it out: "Docker registry provider" = Other, "Server address" = apps.safeserver.de, "Username" = the email address of your account on apps.safeserver.de, "Password/Token" = the access token you created on apps.safeserver.de, and save.
• Go to https://apps.safeserver.de/apps, click "View" on your desired app, and then "Install app".
• Copy the "CloudronVersions.json URL".
• Go to your instance, add a new community app (https://my.example.org/#/appstore), and paste the URL.
• That's it. Simple, right!?

Maybe there is a timeout/confirmation to happen between adding the docker registry and being allowed to access manifests?

For now, I am also stuck. But the part I have seen looks promising.

• Not clear what "Sanctum personal access tokens" is or why I need this . Is this for the protected docker registry?
• Ultimately, I could not install it for the same reason as @fbartels

Firewall / Proxy. We do not use third-party hubs like Docker Hub. It is our own infrastructure, and we want to get an overview of the (technical) possibilities between accounts/instances and our resources. Besides that, some apps are in a premium tier for which we charge maintenance fees. This workflow is integrated directly into the app catalog.

Thanks a lot for pointing out this error. That wasn't intentional. I'm opening a ticket for our devs right away (yep: real humans, not AI).

It's worth mentioning: the entire app catalog is still in early beta.
