I see real world uses for this - and Cloudron could use this to market to that demographic that would normally use Google Cloud / AWS - instead using their VPSes to accomplish the same thing but at a much lower cost than the cloud services that already exist.

I second @mehdi's suggestion for: https://github.com/openfaas/faasd/ being was is used under the hood. It seems to get the point of self-hosting these "serverless" web apps.

This is similar to my use case for my standalone DB app request. Essentially, how can I build web apps "serverless" while avoiding selling my soul to google cloud or amazon web services.
