@murgero is on the case for this.

We're sponsoring but I'm sure the effort is worth a lot more.

Please consider sending some coins/sheets his way for the value this can add to your websites and clients.

@marcusquinn really small irk, but why "dollars" instead of just money 😛

@jdaviescoates Just slang. Same reason money emojis are all $ signs.

I'm British (guessing you are too with a double-barrelled name?) but I say all sorts of things for money; dollars, dolla, mullah, dosh, lolly, notes, beer tokens, dancing tokens, livres, pony, nuggets, coin, bucks etc - but I say dollars even for pounds, probably from much time in The States. Y'know, gangsta style 🙂

Some Sunday funday reading on the history of the $ sign:

@jdaviescoates Sometimes say Euros too - but that's a currency I expect to outlive 😉

Yeah, I'm also British. It's just a personal preference, but I don't like that style/ this particular form of slang 🙂

I don't mind most of the other slang words you listed though. But don't mind me 🙂

@jdaviescoates Haha. We'll be explaining the curiosities British class system next 😂

Generally not a fan of Americanisms - but, I still use them tongue in cheek.

I love the wonders and history of language though, it's fun to have variety and playfulness across dialects.

If I spoke the English I learned at school I probably wouldn't have much variety in my friends 😬

And, if I used all my favourite words here I'd probably get banned 😁

Think I'll update my slang to "coins" - ready for the revolution ✊

Private School? (or as we bizarrely like to call really posh ones here in the UK, Public School?) 🙂

I've only got a double-barrelled name because my parents read some statistic that people with double-barrelled names do better! 😆

Far more likely due to inheritance than anything else - over 30% of land in the UK is still owned by aristocracy - so not sure how much it's really helped me! 😛

Updated all occurrences of "dollar" to "coins/sheets/mullah" 🙂

The reason I said "Paypal dollar", without the s, is because Paypal effectively invents money in the continual amounts it shows in balances that never leave its platform.

                      Clever business, questionable ethically.

I'm still a hypocrite though as I often boycott other businesses for similar antics, so I ought not to use them - but for the sake of speed, it's a convenience for now. until we mint some Cloudron coins 🙂

Haha, you needn't have, but thanks I guess 😊

BTW, I assume you're already aware of them, but just in case you're not (and also because if you sign-up and then transfer at over £200 I'll get £75! 😛 ), TransferWise are pretty awesome when it comes to transferring money from one bank account to another internationally.

I often use it to send my Dad money in Spain. It literally takes seconds to hit his account and costs pennies.

                            @jdaviescoates Yeah - love Transferwise!

Recommend it to everyone. So already signed up but 👍 for anyone else.

Dunno if they do "pay me" links but I know TW to TW transactions are fee-free.
