<![CDATA[Why change email server location?]]>I noticed that I can change my email server location from my.example.com to *.example.com. Can someone explain to me why I would want to do this and what the benefits are and also what the cons would be? I don’t quite get the point of email server location?

If you mean is that the correct IMAP / SMTP server in that case? yes.
If by "access" you mean a webmailer, you have to pick one of the webmailers in the appstore (Roundcube, SoGo, Rainloop, SnappyMail...).

If you use my.* it (afair) fails to auto setup.
So basically it could be argued there is some UX involved.

This makes it smoother for already configured mail clients.
