<![CDATA[Policy for updating the Operating System for your Cloudron?]]>I presume most people choose a Long Term Support (LTS) release for their Operating System (OS) and then just apply the security patches when they become available. Is that right?

Does Cloudron detect the OS version and see whether there are some patches available and provide notifications?

Do you have some nice tools you use to keep the OS up to date? Perhaps some hosting companies are good at that.

Cloudron's documentation from going from 18 to 20 was quite helpful, re: a collectd edit that I never would have thought to make, plus the specific MySQL Server migration rules. Everything went smoothly, but without the documentation, it wouldn't have. So kudos to the team.

Agreed. Thankfully in my case I only have about 10 or so apps to import individual from the small Cloudrons into the big Cloudron.

The only time you really need to update the OS to a new version is when Cloudron no longer supports the version you are still on (like I just had to do so I could update to 7.5 on an old Cloudron that was still running Ubuntu 18).

But even then, what I've mostly done in the past (but not this time) is to just migrate the whole thing to a new server rather updating.

This time I didn't do that as I'm actually going to merge various small Cloudron into one giant one on a new dedicated server.
