RE: What do you do?
Guess I can contribute to this too. I'm a computer engineer graduate who ended up liking software development more, but still tinkers with hardware projects. I also work at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada as a software developer for the eLearning team doing updates for our Moodle instance and building out our suite of applications that integrate with Moodle via LTI. I also love working on FOSS apps and started on EleutheriaPay which I hope to get on Cloudron once its stable: https://eleutheriapay.atrilahiji.dev/

Guide - Packaging frontend only apps
I made a couple of these so far, so I figured someone might want something like this as a guide:
RE: 'Shell' App for Jamstack Apps
@marcusquinn The workflow for Gitea + Drone on cloudron is quite nice actually with felix's package. Personally I'm still for GitLab for its really good devops and project manaement features. And that it actually looks half decent when accessing it on mobile lol
If you guys want I can make a guide for Gridsome (or any other SSG platform) + Gitlab/Gitea + CI + Surfer. Its really quite simple once you get the hang of it.
RE: Why not make Cloudron fully open source again?
I'm with fbartels on this one. Its not like its really hindering anything right now and I find the current model more than reasonable considering the effort @girish and @nebulon put into this platform and community.
Something that could be useful is pure DB instances that we could use for apps not hosted on Cloudron. Just making it easy to spin up a new DB for something when needed. Similar to Caprover. I really do like Caprover, however they do not have SSO and proper multi-domain email which is what I love about Cloudron.
RE: Who here has actually already packaged an app that is already in the Cloudron App store?
I imagine there are people like me that want to use Ghost's members feature. I did edit my theme to include a link to my ko-fi account for one-time donations.
RE: Show me your dashboard :)
@ruihildt Jesus Christ how much does that cost/month?
Mine is pretty modest right now:
Running on a server I have running at my home with the following specs:
CPU: i3 9100 (4 cores)
RAM: 64GB @ 3200MHz
Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD + 2TB 7200RPM HDD for Emby + Nextcloud
Backup Storage: 4TB Seagate Ironwolf NAS HDD
I have a bit of an obsession with keeping data on prem (my home) because at the end of the day, a VPS is still someone else's computer and in my mind is no different from just using SAAS or Cloud services. But maybe I'm just paranoid.
The only thing I use a VPS for is GitLab runner.
EDIT: Here is my server (its green because of philips hue lights)
RE: How about a Cloudron meet-up in Berlin in 2021?
@girish Do you mean online? If so, that would be great! Not sure about flying to Germany from Canada for me
Mahara - ePortfolios for LMSs
Can integrate with Moodle and useful for online learning.
Eleutheria Pay - Open source donation platform
Ever since I gave up on FossPay, I have been working on a Node + Vue based version of the same thing called Eleutheria Pay. Think of it as a layer overtop of Stripe to handle donations that can be self hosted. It is not at feature parity yet, but I hope to get there eventually. Right now it has stripe based one-time payments working. Is anyone interested in this being developed further and it being tailored more to Cloudron?
I am open to feature requests as well.
Cloudron Package: https://git.cloudron.io/AtriLahiji/eleutheriapay-app
Current tasks: https://git.lahijiapps.dev/atrilahiji/eleutheriapay/-/boards
Demo (Use this card info: https://stripe.com/docs/testing#cards) : https://testsupport.atrilahiji.dev/
It is certainly hacky right now (as you can see by my frantic commit history lol), but I hope to clean it up over time.
EDIT: I have added subscription support in response to feedback here. Of course, I am primarily building this for myself. That being said, if anyone would like to sponsor work on this or just feels like throwing something my way, feel free to DM me or check out the EleutheriaPay instance I am running (linked in my signature)
Set domain redirects and memory allocation before initially creating the app
This would be quite useful as just a QOL change as right now the process takes more clicks than I think it reasonably should (just being nit picky really). So you make the app with a domain, you go into settings and add a redirect which triggers a restart, and finally you change the allocated memory which again triggers a restart.
RE: Offered: Drone CI on Cloudron
I am really excited about this. I'll see if I can still package Drone Runners as an app too. My ideal would be Drone CI and runners all on Cloudron. I reached out to @fbartels to potentially sponsor that as well. I want to try making it myself but honestly it is tempting to sponsor. Felix does some great work.
Edit: Heh I say this as I switch to GitLab and run a GitLab runner. No matter, it would still be good to see some CI tools on Cloudron to go with the Git platforms.
RE: Funkwhale - A modern, convivial and free music server
I am 100% behind this. Right now I use Jellyfin for music which is fine, but Funkwhale would be amazing.
