Yes I say we give these guys a chance at Revolt in Cloudron, I would love to see this and use it asap most apps like Discord are just Mumble based apps like Zello. Mumble made the best voice codec ever. I am using Rocketchat but it would be so cool to have a voice channel chatroom like revoltchat, love to see this on cloudron for use self-hosted Users

Revolt - open source and privacy-friendly Discord alternative -
Better Alternative to CloudronMiroTalk SFU is a lot better than Jitsi will ever be. I have been doing a lot of research on this myself and have found that yes, at this time, there is no real good option to go for. A discord alternative is not possible at this time sad to say but at the moment most chat packages today are all Jitsi alternatives with only conference calls and text. I did have a chat with one of the Devs at Zello, but they said they would only speak to Cloudron if they were interested. Go chat with them. Someone will bring back that type of Voice chat room experience but not at the moment, sad to say
It seems that live chat is a thing of the past now and all we have is conference type apps.
There are some projects out there, but they're listening to the Na Sayers too much, and they are left for dead, which is such a shame.
I was the owner of VoiceChatAlpha and all I did was put a different interface on mumble and made chat rooms, this was back in 2010 when Minecraft came out, and we had a 7-year great time, but then Discord came out plus mobile devices became more popular, and it was too much for me as VCA was only a desktop app for Windows which was great in its time. I started on Yahoo chat and made great friends in chat rooms, and it is this type of voice chat is now just a thing of the past and I have to face that fact that we have moved on from that sort of chat. I used to laugh and say the guys who made Discord saw my project VoiceChatAlpha and just done a better job than me. People are stuck with Discord I'm afraid. -
Cloudron heavy on memoryI have a 6GIG VPS with Ubuntu, Cloudron and RocketChat.
I got this today, The mongodb service ran out of memory.Anyone know of any tweaks I can do to even the memory out on the OS, Cloudron and Rocketchat.
It is all a bit heavy on my VPS, I must admit Cloudron is heavy on memory and of course rocketchat.
One other thing I am also interested in making a discord type server, and I am sure I read it can be done with Matrix or something?
Or maybe a workaround in getting voice channels in rocketChat?
Sorry for the two questions in one thread ;))
Also, many thanks for your replies on the Firefox thread.
Many thanks

Simply Why Is Cloudron Not adding New Voip Apps???Simply, Why Is Cloudron not adding New VoIP Apps???
All they have is TeamSpeak?
It is about time Cloudron started to add more apps.
VoIP is in high demand.
Why are they not putting discord alternatives on because everyone says they hate discord now, so I hear and there are some great new projects out there coming up.
Jitsi has got to be one of the worst apps.I notice these companies are always trying to go for the corporate companies, but not the normal user who just wants to host his own VoIP server.
They would get a lot more money if Cloudron would aim for all ideas/users instead of just corporate alone. It's all about the money.
Cloudron, please listen to your customers.
Jitsi and rocketchat is old and heavy, let's get some better apps on.
I have been waiting for so long for a discord alternative and there are a lot out there, so please add them, so we can enjoy more of them and continue to use Cloudron.
Best regards.

Better Alternative to CloudronI am loving the replies, thank you ;))
Don't look at this topic as a rant because it is not, and to the staff of Cloudron don't get me wrong I still think it is great, I think you're missing out on so many other types of customers by not trying to add more voice apps. I have done all my research and there are so many you could add that people would love. Jitsi and apps like it are more for corporate use, and these apps are heavy and people just don't like using them. I say this because I have been making chat client's since yahoo chat day's and I have a lot of experience in this field. On this forum, there is a list of suggestions for Discord alternatives, I would say speak to Zello and add that for a start. If you get the gamer's community on your side, you would be on a winner. Btw, when I say I do not see apps added, I only mean Voice Chat apps. Meeting and group apps like Jitsi are not going to pull in the other half of the market like for example Gamers. There are so many types of reasons why you should think about this, For example I use Zello on my ebike rides up the woods and even something simple like Mumble can be used in pain balling games, you got to think out of the box. Being stuck with Jitsi and Rocketchat is not great and people just go and stick to their WhatsApp and all the other big companies out there that are watching their every move, it kind of sucks. If you want me to give you some help on this, DM me. I say Zello a lot because it is free and also paid, but then you have other open source options out there, it makes me wonder if it will ever happen. You know I would love a Discord alternative, but I am trying to help you also. Most people I know always say, oh I hate Discord, and they're gamers. I have been on the Net for over 20 years and I could tell you some cracking ideas that would make Cloudron the top of the list because in the end it is about what type of user wants to use Cloudron so if you cover all markets you will be at the top. Take it from me, I have been there and done it many times through the years. Trust me, try to add a few that you can and you will see a big change. Think about it. -
Better Alternative to CloudronYes https://revolt.chat/ is run by quite young Devs, but they are trying, but it is going very slowly, I have been watching their progress for the last 2 years, and it seems to be slowing down at the moment, they seem stuck on the VoIP side of things because the rest is easy, I am hoping they might get some help at some point. That's all I can really say on that them and I wish them the best as they seem to be the only ones trying. I'd love to help them with the Mumble side of things but different code languages, so I can not just give them any of my old source code, let's see how they get on I guess. I still think Cloudron should try to do a deal with Zello because it is the same concept as Mumble, plus text and file sharing, Yet another company making it easy to use Mumble just like Discord, that's all it boils down to with the last of the chat rooms/channels. Many thanks.

Firefox not showing or playing videoI am guessing I am not the first one to say this, but is there a workaround I need to know about with Firefox not showing or playing videos in rocketchat?
I have to keep telling all my users to use Google Chrome, so they can play and watch videos in the threads, which is a bit of a pain.Is this a Firefox thing or a rocketchat thing?
The videos get converted into WebM format.
Am I missing something, or is this an ongoing problem for everyone?
I am using the free version, but I have noticed the support for video for other browsers is pretty bad.
Many thanks

Videos bufferingAh, so it is the mongodb that needs a lot of ram allocated to it, thank you
I was wondering with service to put ram too, so this helps a lot of thanks ;))
