@timconsidine they're charging self hosters just to use the mobile and desktop apps now, even for only a single user.
While its not particularly expensive to buy the license allowing a single user to use the apps, I think its indicative of how they're going about things, which is really abusing the spirit of open source, if not the letter.
A viable "private, affordable, self hostable alternative to Notion" it is not anymore IMO

@niccokunzmann can you put these two exact sentences somewhere in the docs? I'd vote right in front on the Getting Started page.

Maybe I'm just a moron but this wasn't immediately obvious to me, it wasn't till i cloned the repo locally to look over it that i figured it out.

I also have encountered this issue, to the point I've disabled auto billing bc I couldn't find any other way to make it stop.
