Wordpress apps: ImageMagick very old version

According to the Wordpress SiteHealth the ImageMagick version string is
ImageMagick 6.9.11-60 Q16 x86_64 2021-01-25 https://imagemagick.orgwhile here on https://github.com/ImageMagick/ImageMagick the latest version is 7.1.1-43.My assumption is that there must be loads of improvements after all these years and releases?
Is it feasible to upgrade ourselves or in the app?
