I cant stand nextcloud
-
It continuously causes issues and errors, and now after I did a rollback to try and get the desktop app to sync correctly, I cant access any of my files. It tried to load then times out and stops trying. I keep getting a 304 HTTP code according to the nextcloud logs.
At this point, I am doing trying to play and fiddle with this POS software package that is at best a beta version of a production app.
I cant have my data continuously corrupted, lost, or irretrievable because nextcloud cant keep their crap together.
Does anyone know how I can decrypt all users data on the server at once, disable server encryption permanently, and then port to syncthing?
This is just so frustrating that I even have to play Russian roulette with my data.

@timconsidine
Me, too.
Rarely problems, and if any, I was able to solve them via the occ tool - thought I stayed away from encryption as my server is at home with nextcloud on an encrypted home folder so I don't need e2e encryption on top of that.
Also, activate only the really necessary addons. -
@privsec : are these problems stem-ing from the encruption plugin ? Rather than Nextcloud itself.
I have used NextCloud for 5+ years and I struggle to remember any problems at all.
It is certainly possible. I really don't want data stored unencrypted but it is looking like that is the only option.
All my data is stored on Wasabi, and they do have data stored at rest, but they store the encryption keys in meta data (from what I recall)

Ill have to look into the OCC tool, hopefully all my data isn't lost.
