Nextcloud desktop (Windows) client slow to start syncing files?

Before I go down the diagnostic rabbit hole, has anyone noticed if their Nextcloud windows client is slow to start syncing files?
The actual download/upload speeds are fine. It just takes a while for it to pick up that I added/edited files and for it to actually sync it to the NC server. I'm not sure if it was always like that, but Syncthing is blazing fast in comparison. Thoughts?

At least on macOS, syncing is more or less instant (client version 3.1.3)
