    Hi,

I accidently had a typo in a Cloudron username which I used to login to Mastodn.
After that I corrected the typo in the name und deleted the specific Madtodon user. Logged in to Mastodon with the corrected User and got the correct Username + "_1" (I guess because the old username still was somewhere in a database.
What can I do to give the user the correct user handle in mastodon without the "_1".

Are you talking about a user coming from the Cloudron users or a Mastodon local user?

Ah so mastodon did this + "_1" ? I guess you have to delete that user first in mastodon then. Note that if you delete users in Cloudron, this deletion is not propagated to the apps.

just tried that via CLI. Unfortunately the users get only greyed out in Mastodon but not completely deleted and their user names stay blocked

Hm yeah username change is quite tough since many apps use that as some unique identifier 😕

If this is all new you might have to just start over in order to get the user name you want.

already thought about that (initially I wanted Mastodon to administrate users not Cloudron). Means I have to move my account to another instance, setup Mastodon again, move back to my new instance. Right?

No, I mean just reinstall your Mastodon and start over with your account. As long as the account you want to have named correctly was only ever created on your own instance, reinstalling that instance should reset that username. If you move it, you won't be able to change it (I think).
