Don't upgrade to 22.2.1 - it has a bug which makes it much slower

@nebulon said in Nextcloud - Package Updates:

      Update Nextcloud to 22.2.1

I've heard this is MUCH slower, so perhaps we shouldn't roll out this update?

      See e.g.

      https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/29678

      And

      https://help.nextcloud.com/t/nc-22-2-1-performance-warning/127169/1

@nebulon given how often Nextcloud has issues with updates I think perhaps we should be even slower with updates than we already are. Like add another week or something.

@jdaviescoates thanks for the heads up, I have revoked the new package.

@jdaviescoates good to know - I thought it was just me… There‘s a Patch already linked in the GitHub issue.

@girish what's the best thing for people like me whose Nextcloud has already updated to do now? I guess I could roll back to a backup before the update. Or will there be another update that will revert it? Or perhaps I just sit tight until the new patched released comes out?

@jdaviescoates looks like 22.2.2 is out with the fix, just making a new package.

@girish don't know if it's normal or if I'm doing something wrong but it doesn't seem to be automatically updating to 22.2.2. I manually did the update on one of my instance but it's not updating as auto update in my other two instances (auto update is "ON" for the app). Not an issue for me, I can do the update manually, but just thought I'd let you know in case there is an issue.

@avatar1024 Updates that are considered „unstable“ (i.e. all Nextcloud updates 😵) are rolled out in stages. They are only updated automatically after the manual updaters have not reported bugs (like in this case).

@necrevistonnezr Many thanks! I hadn't realised that was also the case for Nextcloud point release updates (I though that only applied to NC major version update)
