      Not all apps are created equally and that shows when it comes time to package for Cloudron. With that being said it would be ideal to have at least one or two good low code solutions on the platform. Then creating new apps and features could be streamlined and "standardized" on a higher level further enabling end users.

      Mostly all of these are open source to some extent, there may be 1 or 2 that slipped by the vetting process but in general most of these are potential candidates.

      • Appsmith (https://www.appsmith.com/) https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/4866/appsmith?_=1653257215685
      • Toljet (https://www.tooljet.com/) https://github.com/ToolJet/ToolJet
      • Refine (https://refine.dev/)
      • Structr (https://structr.com/)
      • Open Catapult (https://opencatapult.net/)
      • Saltcorn (https://saltcorn.com/)

      Especially since we already have complementing apps like: Baserow, Directus, Metabase, NocoDB, n8n, Minio and more the next logical step is to have a good low code solution to complete the pairing.

      I am holding off on making app Wishlist entries for the rest of the list as there are quite a few. Additionally I am interested in everyone's thoughts and opinions here!

      IMO, this is a HUGE opportunity and a "platform type" feature that will be standard going forward. I get exciting thinking of being able to launch a low code app on Cloudron with a few clicks and then creating basically any solution... Its a testament to how powerful open source and technology is with the right configuration.

        Oracle APEX is another option https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/6995/oracle-21xe-with-apex/7
        but after further investigation the XE database has very low limitations then it requires a license so it may not be ideal for most use cases

          @plusone-nick nice list !

          I tried Saltcorn and while it is attractive in many ways, I would not recommend it as it is easy to 'hack' the url to view data of another user/client/transaction that should not be available.
          Unless they have fixed this in terms of url exposure.

            @plusone-nick Yes, the are limitations but imho nothing extremly low. E.g. Microsoft SQL Server Express is limited to 10GB user data compared to the 12GB of Oracle XE - and despite of this limitation both products have their value and are widely used in small settings.

              What is the price of the license in this case?

                    @plusone-nick For low code, I took the time to study the best top three oss low code solution in my opinion :

                    • budibase - Ireland based - GPL
                    • appsmith - India based - Apache Licence
                    • tooljet - US based - AGPL

                    I will bet on budibase, I think that it's the best long-term choice.

                    I make a difference between opensource software with open governance, and opensource with closed gov.

                    By open governance, I mean the community has a real power to change the roadmap (e.g voting) and the business model is based on offering business services based on the community edition.

                    By closed gov, I mean the company is listening the community to change the roadmap (e.g polls) and the business model is the opencore one, i.e community edition + business-oriented proprietary code. Business services are based on the proprietary enterprise edition.

                    Budibase is in the opengov spirit (SSO and RBAC in the community edition), though not formally.
                    RBAC (Role Based Access Control) is critical when you want to scale your webapp (same for SSO).
                    Budibase lacks from features compared to appsmith and tooljet, but is more clean and responsive, and will hopefully catch up in the coming years.

                    Appsmith is an opencore solution (attracting people with a community edition, then when you're locked in and want to scale, you will have to pay for the "business" features (SSO and RBAC)).

                    Tooljet ~ appsmith, with less traction.

                      @samir Budibase is great.
                      Wish I had a bit more time to get back to grips with it.
                      Not sure that it can be packaged for Cloudron as many components.
                      But well worth setting up in a separate VPS or (as I have done) in a separate VPS dedicated to various Docker apps (multi-purpose the VPS).

                        Thanks! its not fully flushed but its a start plus there so many options and new ones all the time...

                        I have yet to dabble with it but I am curious how the url's are exposed or "protected"
                        Do you have a specific use case you can share?

                          @jan-reinhardt oh okay I could have sworn I saw a 2 ort 3 GB limitation for XE 😅☠ if its more toward 10/15 not as bad for sure, still not ideal but way better than what I was thinking

                              @samir Those are the main solutions that stood out to me for varying reasons. Its nice to have choice and it kinda sucks that they are all missing a key component to be "Ideal" in one way or another lol I do have faith that these will all get better and one will come out on top though
