Now we've got Discourse 3.0, and Cloudron has Open ID Connect too, the next thing that would be really great to have would be to OIDC support for Discourse.

Unlike LDAP there is an official OIDC plugin:

      https://www.discourse.org/plugins/oauth.html
      https://github.com/discourse/discourse-openid-connect
      https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-openid-connect/103632

There is also a basic OAuth2 support plugin here:

      https://github.com/discourse/discourse-oauth2-basic#readme
      https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-oauth2-basic-support/33879

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

This would be nice indeed. @nebulon do you think we are compatible?

          I guess it's https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-openid-connect/103632 and not oauth2

I have added optional OpenID support with https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/discourse-app/-/commit/0bf75b35f31b596cef14567b8ee147eb4417ddcb

Now just pending app tests for this, then we can release a new package.

The package with OpenID integration for Cloudron SSO is released. However this currently only works with new app instances.
