Anyone run across an online OSS Auction tool? Bonus points for it being something that could be packaged. From what I see, there's a lot of little businesses that do it/white label, but crazy expensive. Seems ripe for a disruption.

This is a good question and now that you mention it, the market does seem ready for an alternative.

        There is Particl:
        https://particl.io/marketplace
        https://github.com/particl/particl-market

        Which has a Docker.

I hadn't heard of it. Escrow and payment processing support would be key factors. Also, similarly to fax machines back in the day, the more people who have one, the more useful it becomes to have one, so growing a userbase would be important.

It might be worth investigating some real-world auction places like Sothebys https://www.sothebys.com/en/ or livestock auction places to see what is happening there.

        Or possibly barter communities?

OpenBazaar 3.0 is in the works, apparently. https://openbazaar.org/

There is Sylius, which has a nice page, enough to suggest Cloudron's team take a quick look at it. (MIT, Docker):

        https://sylius.com/
        https://docs.sylius.com/en/1.12/book/installation/installation_with_docker.html
        https://github.com/Sylius/Sylius

Perhaps another way forward would be a module or extension to existing e-commerce platforms which would enable bidding instead of fixed pricing.

Nice thread idea. It should be an interesting discussion.

I saw one item that HubSpot had thrown one together some years ago. Made me wonder about WuCommerce or the Ooodoo folks. Haven't seen anything yet but looking forward to looking at your links! Others?

So, I just looked closely at Sylius. Their demo site was good, seems like it does everything an ecommerce site would do. Going to try and get it up and running in "auction mode" if that's even a thing. The docker image is incredibly simple, even though it's written in Symphony which is definitely NOT simple hehe.
