I have used sogo for calendar / contact syncing. I don't like the interface for out of office, and the fact that mail clients like thunderbird can't sync / interact with it, making user have to use the web interface just for this feature is a bit annoying.
So I'm wondering if theres a better way to do it? Lots of people use outlook, and with exchange/o365 this feature is easily understood and used by end users. To some companies it so important, not having it is a deal breaker.

      Hello @AartJansen

When not setting this in the web mail client, where else would you expect to set up this out of office setting?
Since this feature is something that is automatically reacting to incoming mails 24/7 it needs to be a server/service.
It can't be a local mail client like Thunderbird. Otherwise, the client aka your Desktop or Notebook needs to be powered on and connected to the internet 24/7.
Would you expect this setting in the Mailbox configuration of Cloudron?

If your main complaint is about the UI / UX of SOGo, maybe a different webmail program is more to your liking.
Also, if it really is just the UI / UX of SOGo, it might be best to voice your expectations with SOGo them self with a feature request.

Besides having a dedicated extra service which reacts, I guess this can also be achieved via sieve filters. However to make this useful probably some better sieve script editor/UI is required. I think that part is still much lacking in any of the clients we have packaged so far and Thunderbird's sieve script support is even more ancient as far as I can tell.
