Should registrar integration run as deep as syncing purchased domains?
-
I realize now that it's just changing the name servers automatically, or maybe the DNS servers or whichever way it does it whenever you add a new domain. But if Cloudron has my Namecheap token, it would be possible to auto-populate it with all of my purchased domains? But would anyone want this? I think it completes the "as much as possible within Cloudron Dashboard" approach - but I wanna hear other's opinions.
We don't have a bulk input of domains, but having them all at the ready when installing apps / changing domains would be cool, maybe an extra list item at the end of the domains you've already added in the "Add Domain" page saying "find more on linked registrars" and it'll auto-populate beyond the domains you've "chosen" to add / link to Cloudron.

Only optionally though, not all domains point to a Cloudron (yet )

@marcusquinn I was thinking as an optional feature (since Cloudron has our tokens anyway). Kinda subtle out of the way.

how would this work?
the registrar would have to push a webhook or something upon a new domain being added.alternatively, the registrar API would have to support a query function for Cloudron to periodically poll for new domains. That's a lot of polling if not manual. (maybe only done when visiting the Domain configurator.
So push vs pull?

@robi My idea is a pull through the API.
So basically when you’re installing an app or even adding a new sub domain, you have a drop down to select the TLD. I was imagining an item at the end of the list that said “Click here for more domains available from your connected registrar” and if you did, it would pull from the already connected API and add them to the list of TLDs to choose from. When you submit, there would be a pop up warning mentioning that Cloudron will be changing the DNS settings for the external domain chosen and adding it to its database of internal TLDs.
