Desktop app and browser extensions seem to play nice.
I feel I'm in good company here for these sorts of de-centralised things.
Haven't even scratched the surface of what may be possible, but perhaps something Cloudron could make use of for further resilience?
Maybe start with automating the DNS settings with existing integrations?
What could we do with all this amazing engineering combined with the apps and brains that Cloudon brings together?

@marcusquinn Thanks for making a request for IPFS on Cloudron. There are a couple of other threads discussing this excellent idea:
https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/5821/ipfs-desktop-on-cloudron
https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1583/ipfs-a-peer-to-peer-hypermedia-protocol
ipfs-desktop is a desktop application, but is best run inside a container (for security purposes) so Cloudron would be ideal for it.
Making it easy for people to deploy a secure, ipfs-desktop in a container could help create a distributed, CDN (Content Delivery Network). It would be fantastic.
I hope this happens.

@marcusquinn : definitely +1
I struggle to get my head around using it, but it seems to me this is much needed to further decentralisation and "returning the internet to its roots", reducing dependency on BigTech.

@marcusquinn funny enough, it turns out YOU posted a wishlist item for what @tennox is building -- an IPFS node to be run on Cloudron.
https://gitlab.com/wovin/deploy/ipfs
I made a request in their issue queue https://gitlab.com/wovin/deploy/ipfs/-/issues/2
And funded their open collective https://opencollective.com/wovin/projects/ucan-host-ipfs
IPFS desktop totally works from your desktop. Figuring out how to configure it and connect it with an always on Cloudron node could be a future feature.
And as you mentioned, I'm interested in the DNS mapping too.
