@bushido There's apparently a PDF reader, but I've not used it.

    There's also a browser extension: https://github.com/zadam/trilium/wiki/Web-clipper

@bushido I've been using Joplin (install the client on your device/s and then synch via the Joplin server available on Cloudron) as a replacement for Evernote for personal and work usage for the past 1 year and it is the closest alternative for me. The only area is lacks in comparison to Evernote is in note sharing, but it works well.

@bushido LogSeq is worth a look too, and a good example of FOSS with an Open Collective for contributions.

Thanks. Does it handle PDF files?

@bushido I have been trying Trilium as suggested by @ruihildt

                  • supports PDF
                  • on cloudron
                  • supports sharing (although not tried really)

I found it a little difficult to get my head around initially.
The sample notes tree they have is great with lots of different note types but for some reason overwhelmed me.

It's worth persevering with some UI issues (e.g. you can embed a PDF in a note, but it shows in a small window and initially not obvious how to expand into a readable window, but it's just a click on the PDF title)

I like the charts and canvas, and Mermaid diags looks great although I am new to it so not explored much. But Markdown --> diagram is great concept. Visual but text input makes it quick (lots of diag tools are slow and longwinded)

Only weak point other than time to get use to note structure and UI is lack of native mobile clients. But that can be worked around.
