Just tried to set up syncthing, using "alllow specific users from this cloudron"

I noticed that it does not check the password. Anyone can log in using the specified user id, the password field is ignored.

aha - I realise now, syncthing has no concept of a user account.

You can set it up to use "auth using the app itself" and that will give you a single credential pair.

I guess the "auth using cloudron" simply whitelists a bunch of potential usernames (but ignores passwords)

🤔 I've got mine set-up to use Cloudron credentials and it does ask for username and password IMG_20250729_161039.jpg
