Disk Space and Backup Folder
-
Hi everyone, I’m currently facing a major problem regarding my Cloudron storage.
I have a VPS with 1 TB of storage and a second 2 TB hard drive dedicated to backups. My apps actually require about 480 GB of storage. Two days ago, I received a notification that I was running out of space. I checked Cloudron and saw that 800 GB was already in use; a day later, that figure had risen to 1 TB.
Cloudron has also been reporting repeated backup failures for the past week.
However, I have no idea why this is happening.Where should I start looking?
The
/var/backupsdirectory contains several files. Shouldn't that directory be empty if I'm using a separate hard drive specifically for backups?root@cloudron:/var/backups# dir alternatives.tar.0 apt.extended_states.2.gz dpkg.arch.5.gz dpkg.statoverride.0 dpkg.status.2.gz alternatives.tar.1.gz apt.extended_states.3.gz dpkg.arch.6.gz dpkg.statoverride.1.gz dpkg.status.3.gz alternatives.tar.2.gz apt.extended_states.4.gz dpkg.diversions.0 dpkg.statoverride.2.gz dpkg.status.4.gz alternatives.tar.3.gz apt.extended_states.5.gz dpkg.diversions.1.gz dpkg.statoverride.3.gz dpkg.status.5.gz alternatives.tar.4.gz dpkg.arch.0 dpkg.diversions.2.gz dpkg.statoverride.4.gz dpkg.status.6.gz alternatives.tar.5.gz dpkg.arch.1.gz dpkg.diversions.3.gz dpkg.statoverride.5.gz snapshot alternatives.tar.6.gz dpkg.arch.2.gz dpkg.diversions.4.gz dpkg.statoverride.6.gz apt.extended_states.0 dpkg.arch.3.gz dpkg.diversions.5.gz dpkg.status.0 apt.extended_states.1.gz dpkg.arch.4.gz dpkg.diversions.6.gz dpkg.status.1.gzplease help me

Hello @mac338 and welcome to the Cloudron forum
Please include the output of the
cloudron-support --troubleshootcommand.
Also, please share a screenshot of your backup configuration. The
/var/backupsfolder is also used by Ubuntu itself so it is expected to contain files.
You can rundu -hd 1 /var/backupsto check the size of that folder. It should not be bigger then ~1-2GB when no Cloudron backups are stored there.
