Recommendations for automatically Shared Calendar
-
Hello, and happy new year!
I am setting up a Cloudron for a group who will have emails using the same domain as the cloudron, and who will need a shared calendar. I've worked out that in Sogo I can create calendars and then share them with other logged in users, but this happens only if the user shares the calendar. I am wondering if there is an app (or sogo setting) which automatically shows ONE calendar and each users various entries. The reason being, I'm not sure the users will adapt to needing to "share" a calendar first.
Would nextcloud have such a calendar setup?
Thank you. -
No idea about Sogo but for Nextcloud it's apparently possible with groups.
Users part of the group will only need to show it by clicking on the calendar in the calendar's list.
I haven't tried to set it up.

With Nextcloud you can share calendars with groups. The calender still has to be owned by one "person". I've created a user called DAV (can be a local Nextcloud user / does not have to be a Cloudron user), logged into Nextcloud, created a calender and shared them with a certain group (with R/W permissions). If a user within this group logs in, he automatically have the calender within his overview.
Does SOGO automatically displays shared calenders? If so you could do the same there.

We achieved this by (manually) using the user's abbreviation at the beginning of the entry. For Max Mustermann, an calendar entry would look like "MAM: absent today"
