I tried to migrate a production installation of Invoice Ninja V4 (updated, version 4.5.42) to a V5 (updated, version 5 5.3.1).

I receveid this message (where A.B@X.Y is an admin user email from our Invoice Ninja V4 installation) :

    Migration failed

Looks like something went wrong with the migration for the following company: MY COMPANY

    SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory (SQL: select exists(select * from `users` where (`email` = A.B@X.Y) and `users`.`deleted_at` is null) as `exists`)

    SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory (SQL: select exists(select * from `users` where (`email` = A.B@X.Y) and `users`.`deleted_at` is null) as `exists`)

I did not notice anything in logs.

Instead of using the packaged version of Invoice Ninja V5, I installed Invoice Ninja V5 in a LAMP app, and the migration works fine.

@jeau this would need to be debugged further to gain more context. For a start at least we don't have a wholesome v4 data set to test the migration well besides some sample data set.

After this, are you able to export from the lamp v5 app and into the Cloudron v5 app?
