How do you edit files in recovery mode?

Hello,
I am getting an error after I upgraded NextCloud to 22.1.1 last night. The app is "unresponsive"
I have enabled recovery mode.

I have found a post on nextcloud help to edit the file /app/code/lib/private/RedisFactory.php but when I do so, and then disable recovery mode, that file has been replaced to its original. How can I make a change to this file?
