Talk App coming back after every restart

@jdaviescoates said in Talk App coming back after every restart:
disk space it's barely worth the effort finding and deleting them.
en contraire - I am a deleter. I delete stuff I do not need any more. I love deleting things. I love deleting E-mails not younger than 5 years (January is my "clean the mailbox"-months), I love deleting old backups and most thing I love is having a nearly empty disc. Had been a file hoarder for too many years and since 6 years I delete what can be deleted. I used to have 34 GB of Mail, now I have rarely 1 GB. I used to have files just downloaded then searching for it on my hard drive. Nah, I have 250 GB space on my hard drive and 30 GB is taken by some Games. My server has some more (and backup server as well) but I why keep stuff I do not need?
@jaschaezra I stand corrected

Indeed the package ensures spreed aka talk to be installed so the package can configure the turn settings. If it gets manually uninstalled, then the package will reinstall it, however if you just disable it, then it will stay disabled.
I guess we can revisit if it even makes sense to do all that talk and turn setup in the package for the user, instead we can just let the user do this manually if wanted.
@nebulon I would love this Option. The built in TURN/STUN servers are not working reliably for me so I'm using the ones of my High Performance Backend And I need to manually reconfigure them EVERY TIME THE APP REBOOTS or get reminded of it when yet another fails because of conection issues

I have fixed the package so that it doesn't reinstall or reenable spreed (talk) post installation.
@girish Thank you!

@girish Great, thank you! Could you now please also disable the automatic reconfiguration

@andreasdueren you mean that it configures it to use the internal turn server all the time?
@girish Yes, even though I understand the reasoning behind it, it just completely messes with my setup

@andreasdueren @subven I will add it to 7.4 list. I think we have two options:
-
Like for email, we can add a
optional
flag to manifest. When set in manifest, Cloudron will leave the turn configuration alone. -
Alternately, we do this globally somewhere under services where the internal turn server can be disabled and some external URL can be set.
Most likely we can implement the first option since it's a bit more flexible (as it's per app).
