Is it possible to grant access to a non-administrator to monitor the status of a backup volume and system info?

The only option seems to be to escalate the user's status to an administrator. This would bring dangerous privileges to the user who only wants to check if backups are running properly once a week.

I used an API call to get a list of backups in Grafana. The API does not include a status variable as it seems? I am referring to the green (or red) dot next to the backup volume.

Exposing backup status and volume statuses via API would do the trick as well.

      Any tips?

This is currently not possible, and also not on our roadmap. As you said, you can issue accessTokens as an admin and write some glue code which queries the API.

@whitespace ask @BrutalBirdie about his magic with Zabbix. Perhaps this is an option for your use case.
