Mongo/Postgres/MySQL/CouchDB Instances
-
Something that could be useful is pure DB instances that we could use for apps not hosted on Cloudron. Just making it easy to spin up a new DB for something when needed. Similar to Caprover. I really do like Caprover, however they do not have SSO and proper multi-domain email which is what I love about Cloudron.

Would make sense for them to be accessible via the Locations Domain(s).
Agreed, this would be handy.

@girish They would be public facing, yes. Caprover does allow you to choose to expose the app or not via a checkbox. They allow for flexibility so your app can be on the same server, and therefore doesn't need a publicly exposed DB. Or, it can be hosted on some other static hosting service and will need a publicly accessible DB.
The use case is spinning up databases (CouchDB is one I am most interested in) to be used as a back-end for a static site. I guess there is one other app I would like to use for this, however as it is technically a different app I will make a new post for it.
Edit: They seem to have a small guide explaining how it could be used here https://caprover.com/docs/complete-webapp-tutorial.html

@atrilahiji thanks for the info. So far, we have focused on the selfhosting web apps angle and it's what differentiated us from PaaS like dolly, caprover etc. We have made some exceptions like the LAMP app because there was a lot of demand. If there is interest for exposing databases , we will look into it.

@atrilahiji Sounds like you might be interested in Directus too if you're not already aware of it: https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1743/directus-headless-cms-and-data-driven-framework-open-source-alternative-to-contentful
