Textpattern: pretty and lean Wordpress alternative (PHP based)

Development: https://github.com/textpattern/textpattern
Homepage: https://textpattern.com/
Demo: https://www.textpattern.co/demo
Showcases: https://textpattern.com/showcase/
Themes: https://themes.textpattern.com/Textpattern is mature, fast and lean. Administration is not cluttered or confusing. The focus is clearly on the content. Textpattern is ideally suited for blogs, landing pages, personal websites, but also for club websites.
With the wide range of functions of WordPress and its many plug-ins Textpattern can not (and will not) keep up.
Textpattern is mature: The first stable version of the CMS appeared in 2005. Since then, the development team has regularly released major updates, current version 4.8.0 in February 2020, which contained more than 800 changes to the code. The current version is 4.8.8, which was released in January this year. -
@necrevistonnezr I'm in as soon as I read
wordpress alternative
!And could be just a LAMP app deployment ?
Nice find

@necrevistonnezr installed it as a LAMP app !
Straightforward but remember to run Admin | Diagnostics to correct any permissions issues.Looks like it would be straightforward to package, equally not a great need if it can be installed easily as a LAMP package.
May play with packaging later, but first I must play with using it.
Admin UI can be said to be dated (vs Ghost or Grav) but in some ways I like the simplistic approach. At the end of the day it all comes down to the styling of the created site, admin UI is less of an issue.
EDIT : only 3 themes available, so bit limited in getting going quickly. Quite a lot of manual work to create a site. But for those who like access to components and don't mind getting their hands dirty, it's a nice little platform.

I think you're being too kind.
Having tried the demo admin interface I was left with an impression it wasn't feature complete.
No asset/file/image pickers, everything is manual and needs reference lookups for every aspect, which for some would be more efficient being used from the CLI where you at least have command line completion.
I would not call it a WP alternative.
A CLI alternative perhaps.
