That's the one thing missing for me to adopt Scuttlebutt as my social network.

It's not practical to rely on meeting people physically only to get updates about other nowadays, especially when you have friends and family spread all over the world like me.

@ruihildt it used to be more strict, but now I think the invite codes can be shared more easily digitally and out of band to get those connections started.

But there is some learning curve preparing for offline in an increasingly online world.

Still I think we need to, as it was clearly a need a day ago when the ISP decided to cut off access for evening maintenance for several hours.

@robi Could you rename this thread to "Go-SSB Room" and link to https://github.com/ssb-ngi-pointer/go-ssb-room ?

The server listed is now unmaintained. I still stand by my comment, I'm waiting for that to recreate my social network.^^

@ruihildt Happy to, but I'll need some help from @girish or @nebulon as this thread is old enough and got locked for edits.

@girish actually the app seems to be working amazing, the problem in the current ssb eco system "state", if there are issues it's more with the client(s) I think(Manyverse mobile/desktop or Patchfox), sometimes you have to relogin to your pub to see it in your connections list, but beside that (which I think is client related) I'm not seeing any problem so far 🙂

the experience on mobile is not there yet, it's slow, keep having to resync with the database, feed does not update, but all of this is local problem in the device, not the go-ssb-server implementation or the docker/cloudron package.

It would be great to get this into the app store!

I've just realised that Manyverse (a nice mobile and desktop client app for SSB) is now available on Android too

@robi Plebbit looks like it is going to be a strong platform for social media interaction. There is already a beta to try.
