Restoring Cloudron
-
I am hosted with Digital Ocean. I've been doing backups to the Digital Ocean Spaces. My development partner destroyed my Droplet with my Cloudron install. I have tried installing Cloudron and then importing the NextCloud backup. I get an error after a certain point that the backup couldn't be found. And I get a clean NextCloud install.
I've tried installing a fresh Cloudron and doing a restore using the Box file, but I get an error that the Box file doesn't contain the version number.I really need the NextCloud data. I would like to also get the wordpress sites, and the email. But the top priority is the NextCloud data.
Please assist. -
Just to not miss something obvious, the restore docs are at https://docs.cloudron.io/backups/
If the backup import or restore of the app does not work out in the end, you should always be able to just access your backup data via Digitalocean. Depending on the backup strategy you have chosen, there is either a single tarball for the nextcloud backup in DO spaces or all files in the same folder structure as the app had it on disk.
Still, if the backup files itself are complete and valid, I am sure you can restore the app through Cloudron. Do you have any more detailed error logs during restore?

@morvin you should instead give the path in the time stamped directories . They will look like
hy/2023-01-08-070000-649/box_v7.4.0.tar.gz
. There is a version field in the filename. This allows us to check if the backup corresponds to the Cloudron version you have installed. -
