      Hey there,

      this feature request ist for saving time in user administration.

      Problem: when creating a new user, you have to open Mailserver settings an add new Mailaccount aditionally.

      More efficent it would be, mailboxes could be created automatically when a new user is set up.

      How I imagine additional entrys in User Creation Menu:

      Choose Domain:
      -> Dropdown

      Set Mailbox Name:
      -> enter Mailboxname

      Set Quota for new Mailbox:
      -> slider

      Looking forward to your feedback.
      Max

        Is it not meant to create a mailbox when adding a user ?
        Why is there no option to set the users password ?

          By default on Cloudron, mail receiving is disabled for domains as well as there can be multiple domains, so multiple options where some mailbox would be created during a new user creation. Those are reasons why this is separate, users and mailboxes are related as each mailbox has an owner, but a user may have multiple mailboxes. So I guess from a Cloudron perspective those two things are not that closely related, that a mailbox would get setup on user creation. Surely I guess this depends on how Cloudron is perceived and used by someone. I can see use-cases where it makes more sense to also setup a mailbox on user creation.

          For the password, this was actually initially there but since a primary email is always required, we went the route that an admin does not set some password, but the user will receive an invitation, which allows setting a new password directly.

            @nebulon It'd be nice if the required email, had an option to create the mailbox, using the domain entered.

              @AartJansen I guess that is doable to add, however given that this same user-account and thus primary email will also be used for password reset, we then have to force giving a secondary email, which is not hosted on the same Cloudron?

                i +1 this feature request

                @nebulon I think @AartJansen is implying that if they have a domain that they want it to issue emails on signup since those emails don't/wont exist until created in Cloudron so the primary signup/recovery email would still have to be external like you suggested another Cloudron domain/implementation (ideally) or 3rd party provider

                Really would help with onboarding/provisioning new users

                ✌💙+1

                  @nebulon Yeah, kind of why I was wanting a way to set the user password, rather than need a 3rd party email.
                  I guess the second email being a recovery email, kind of what google does with free gmail accounts. But Google workplace account creation works differently.
                  I'm not saying google have the best system, but they use different account creation for individuals and businesses.
