Using link shorteners like bit.ly exposes users of your links to tracking. We should run our own link shortener or not use one.

yourls doubles as a cooperative link organizer giving a sortable searchable timeline of the key links added by your community with title of what they point to. It's great for a catalog of coommunit google documents. With a click you can post the shortlink with title to twitter or facedook.

I would like this soon and am willing to help do it if others are interested.

Here's a package to start with: https://git.cloudron.io/msbt/yourls-app
It uses its own access control where you can add users manually through the config file. If wanted, there is also the possibility to change it to auth via apache so all cloudron users can use it.
