Mastodon not displaying avatars correctly

Hi, I have a problem. Some avatars are not displaying correctly for me. I tried restarting the cache on the server, but some avatars from other instances are still not displaying properly. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thank you.

Are those avatars from specific instances or is there any pattern of the failing ones?

@nebulon They are from different instances and not all avatars.

Do you see any errors in the app logs or browser console? Are those broken in all clients? Without as much info on the errors as possible it is hard to analyze.

@nebulon I apologize for the lack of information. I have tried multiple applications and the problem also exists in the web browser. I didn't find anything in the logs. I will check the browser console later tonight as I only have my mobile phone with me for now.

I opened the page with the problematic avatar in the browser console and got a 404 error, indicating that the file was not found. I also tried running the cleanup script in the terminal, but the issue persists.

@archos It's a 404 here as well. Looks like the other server is not serving avatars properly

@joseph It is from different instances, not just one. That was just an example. The problem also occurs with avatars from mastodon.social.

maybe the mastodon API might have changed and some instances use different versions? Either way possibly useful if you report this upstream. It does not seem to be Cloudron related at this point.

I tried the command

bin/tootctl accounts refresh --all --verbose

and after running this command, the avatars started reappearing on our instance. It seems to have resolved the issue. Thank you.
