Official Nextcloud Clients won’t connect

Hey all,

I’m facing the issue that the official Nextcloud clients on Linux, Mac and iPhone won’t connect to my Nextcloud instance. Weirdly the problem only occurs randomly. I’m able to connect via a web browser without any problems.

I’m suspecting some kind of port or DNS problem.

Any suggestions on what might be the issue here?

Do you see any errors in the clients? If the same system can indeed visit the app via browser, it may not be a DNS issue as such. Also are there maybe any errors on the server side when you attempt to connect?

The logfile lists something about being unable to encrypt and decrypt data.

Per https://help.nextcloud.com/t/dnspinmiddleware-php-error-in-the-log/197545 , maybe the DNS error can be ignored.

The issue seems to be that connection to LDAP server is lost though. Can you check if box code is repeatedly crashing ? Can you check for errors in /home/yellowtent/platformdata/logs/box.log ?
