Scheduled Imports
-
The app supports a carddav endpoints so if you have a system which can sync this into some other provider it should already work. Currently the Contacts app itself does not have any way to actively reach out into other services. I guess the question here is which part in your setup is the single source of truth regarding the contacts. That one would be the server and the rest become clients. Wondering what the use-case is to have two such contact stores itself.
(Same answer really to the calendar topic)

So for the Calendar and Contacts app, I have more control over and would like that to be the single source of truth, if possible.
I'd like to sync from an external provider (Fastmail, Roundcube, Gmail), to the contacts app, and for calendar basically the same.

Trying to understand what the app could provide here. So a single import from those services is not sufficient for your case? If so, this is generally a bit more complex then, since importing contacts or events on a schedule without having a two way syncing also means, that any changes to data done within th Cloudron apps would be overwritten with every import sync. So it is unclear what should happen there as this is probably unexpected and unwanted, but the app cannot really track which info was imported and later changed.
