TiddlyRoam is your open source external brain.

TiddlyRoam allows you to quickly create your own wiki. You can add fragments of thoughts and findings whenever they come to you. TiddlyRoam will link them and help you spot the patterns.

The project aims to provide a free and open source alternative to the popular Roam.

Features

TiddlyRoam is a TiddlyWiki with bi-directional links and graph maps.

Bi-directional links

This means when you are on page 'Example Page', you can see not just all the pages that 'Example Page' links to, but also all pages that link to it. This leads to what Roam calls 'networked thought'. It really is something that you need to experience to appreciate.

Graph maps

This helps you visualise all the pages you have made and how they link together.

If I'm not mistaken, this whole "app" is a single html file. If so, it might make the easiest app to package on here

I can see a use for this as a quick network diagramming tool too. Provide clients with an instance on their cloudron, populated with nodes for all the things in their technology stack, and what is where.

Ooh, this is an excellent find and a small example of a superpower my brain has.

This could be similarly packaged to SlingCode.

The self documenting idea is awesome too, just need a way to generate it automagically.

This, like the other front-end only apps, are good candidates for the proxyAuth plugin coming in Cloudron 6.

These could all be bundled into one app on top of Surfer and you get a menu page on which one to start...

@robi I would be inclined to agree but so far the apps don't relate to eachother very well. It would make more sense to group apps that go together almost like a "suite" of apps. That being said, Surfer is great but if the purpose is serving pre-packaged HTML Surfer is bloated with its admin ui. Its literally a one line change per-app to add more apps to the node server I wrote.

Do you have a specific reason for wanting Surfer over my 6 liner webserver? Because to me it looks like killing a fly with a nuke.

yes and no.

Yes in the sense that I enjoy the Surfer admin UI
No in the sense that we now have a great File Manager in the Cloudron UI.

@robi ah I see. Yeah my reasoning for using a simpler setup was mostly because I assumed one would not wanna change the app as it’s prepackaged. Otherwise it would not make sense to package and just let people use surfer on its own with any files they want

@atrilahiji I hadn't considered the option to just install Surfer and a bunch of these apps manually coming from the App packaging perspective.

@marcusquinn It might be neat to get a list of all installed apps in Cloudron and populate them in Roam then link them to all their descriptions and various tags for speedy browsing and learning about them. Might be perfect as a New User Welcome Guide that everyone can contribute to as they learn from their path through the Cloudron experience.
