      https://docs.cloudron.io/guides/upgrade-ubuntu-18/

      https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-upgrade-to-ubuntu-18-04

      These are different. Which should I follow? I've tried the cloudron guide a couple of times with no luck. Is it safe to upgrade following the digitalocean guide (I am hosted on digital ocean).

        @sfeldkamp

        Well, I tried the digital oceans ones and they didn't work either. Maybe I will have to create a new server and restore backups instead.

            The one we have posted at https://docs.cloudron.io/guides/upgrade-ubuntu-18/ should also work for the Digitalocean Images. If not then if possible send the errors messages or at least the error reported during the upgrade. Of course you can also get a fresh Ubuntu 20 and migrate your Cloudron via the backups, see https://docs.cloudron.io/backups/#move-cloudron-to-another-server

              The upgrade guides should mostly be identical for upgrading Ubuntu. The Cloudron guide has maybe couple of additional notes/configuration for making sure things are running after upgrade. What error are you hitting when upgrading following either of the docs? I suspect they hit the same error.
