Backup speeds declining ?
-
I recall (but haven't tracked down) previous posts on the subject of backup speeds.
On some of those I defended Cloudron saying 'no problem here'.However backups of my Cloudron instance are declining.
Struggles to maintain 5Mbps and often just 1Mbps.
For what I understand to be a server-to-server process, this seems wrong.Any thoughts on remediation ?
Reboot Cloudron server ? (I never do this unless prompted to)
Change backup destination ? (currently Scaleway)
Check logs ? (looked briefly but can't see anything useful, not sure what to look for)Thoughts/advice much appreciated.
EDIT : just a dumb user observation, but speed reduction seems to have started with update to cloudron 7 (now on 7.04)

I don't think anyone can help much without knowing the context of your configuration... what are you backing up to (external block storage, object storage, file system, another VPS, etc), what speeds did you see before compared to now?
If using object storage as the backend it may be worth trying different providers there or opening a support case with the one you're using to ensure speeds are optimal, as I find that the object storage performance is a huge variable between the different providers. Network is also a factor, so perhaps the network speeds on your VPS aren't as good as they used to be, something in the network side of things perhaps that the provider may need to take care of for you?
