At first, I was using cloudflare, but I figured it was causing issues so I moved to ClouDNS. I'll look into the port to see if it's open, but like I said before this is a fresh install of both Cloudron and adguard. It used to work right out of the box. I've done several reinstalls of both Cloudron and adguard to make sure it wasn't just me

Edit: So apparently IONOS has its own firewall policy separate from the vps itself. I had to login to the dashboard and update the firewall to allow 853. It now works. Thank you for your patience. Never had a vps provider like this before. 🫠

Bumping this since updating to 8.0.3 it won't allow any connections

Edit: Saw a recent issue with IPv6. I'm removing it and rebooting. Will update when I'm done.

Edit 2: Nothing. Still not accepting connections. Now gonna try disabling whitelist.

Edit 3: ...works. strange.

I downloaded the default openvpn file from my cloudron vpn app (I did not change any settings in the app) and then added these 3 lines to the ovpn file to force my dns server...

dhcp-option DNS ~IP OF MY SERVER~
register-dns
block-outside-dns

Unfortunately that didn't help. Thank you for trying though. I already bought the new VPS too so we shall see if this works. Cloudron just got installed so I'm going to attempt to install OpenVPN first and if that doesn't work, ill install AdGuard Home

Having a secondary server with Adguard on it works. I assume some configuration on the original Adguard server broke because the OpenVPN on the secondary server still couldn't connect with my main server Adguard.

Hello, I'll go into a little bit of background before I state the issue.

I was using HostWorld to use Cloudron on in the past, I then switched over to a free vps I got from a friend. We fell out, vps deleted, I went to switch back to HostWorld. Apparently my HostWorld vps doesn't support AVX, so I switched to IONOS.

Since getting this vps, I have had issues with adguard I didn't have in the past. I cannot connect using my android private DNS settings. Apparently nobody is able to connect either via the IP or the URL since I don't see any scanners in the logs. 0 hits for hours and hours.

I'm a n00b so anything dealing with ssh is gonna be very basic ("apt update" and "apt upgrade" are as far as my knowledge goes without needing my hand held).

Did I do something wrong? This is a fresh install, no configuration.

I'm actually dumb. I set the receiving encryption in my SMTP settings to SSL instead of None like the directions say. Wow. I should really test more before posting a support request. Bleh.

Hi, I looked all throughout the forum for a way to use AdGuard with OpenVPN and I am a noob so I dont understand what IP im supposed to use? Is it the one i installed Cloudron on? A different one?

I got the settings button to show up on OpenVPN but when i put in the the server ip that both OpenVPN and Adguard are hosted on, i cannot connect to anything.

What am i doing wrong?

Hahahaha....oh boy. It took installing OSTicket to find out FreeScout was causing the issues. Emails send and receive perfectly now. 🫠

How do you not need Adguard?

RethinkDB uses Wireguard as a proxy. It also has firewall and Adblocking stuff. It's like Adguard on steroids and it's free.
