I'm actually dumb. I set the receiving encryption in my SMTP settings to SSL instead of None like the directions say. Wow. I should really test more before posting a support request. Bleh.

I get this whenever I send mail to my FreeScout instance.

[core] Plugin spamassassin timed out on hook data_post - make sure it calls the callback

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Maybe disable SpamAssassin or something?

Sorry I never got back on this. Been too busy plus I fixed it myself using @g66lol method. I had to use Gmail as a relay since my server wasn't being recognized fast enough

Having the same issue. Nothing is working. No idea how to fix this...

The Allow list. It allows listed IPs to connect to the DNS and denies all others. It used to work but now that I've upgraded to 8, it won't allow my IP to connect, no matter if I use the exact one or use a range. The only time it works is when I remove all entries from it

Unfortunately, this isn't a "solution" for me since I want to use the whitelist to keep the hackers and bots out.

Is there something I can do maybe to remedy this?

Bumping this since updating to 8.0.3 it won't allow any connections

Edit: Saw a recent issue with IPv6. I'm removing it and rebooting. Will update when I'm done.

Edit 2: Nothing. Still not accepting connections. Now gonna try disabling whitelist.

Edit 3: ...works. strange.

At first, I was using cloudflare, but I figured it was causing issues so I moved to ClouDNS. I'll look into the port to see if it's open, but like I said before this is a fresh install of both Cloudron and adguard. It used to work right out of the box. I've done several reinstalls of both Cloudron and adguard to make sure it wasn't just me

Edit: So apparently IONOS has its own firewall policy separate from the vps itself. I had to login to the dashboard and update the firewall to allow 853. It now works. Thank you for your patience. Never had a vps provider like this before. 🫠

Hello, I'll go into a little bit of background before I state the issue.

I was using HostWorld to use Cloudron on in the past, I then switched over to a free vps I got from a friend. We fell out, vps deleted, I went to switch back to HostWorld. Apparently my HostWorld vps doesn't support AVX, so I switched to IONOS.

Since getting this vps, I have had issues with adguard I didn't have in the past. I cannot connect using my android private DNS settings. Apparently nobody is able to connect either via the IP or the URL since I don't see any scanners in the logs. 0 hits for hours and hours.

I'm a n00b so anything dealing with ssh is gonna be very basic ("apt update" and "apt upgrade" are as far as my knowledge goes without needing my hand held).

Did I do something wrong? This is a fresh install, no configuration.

Having a secondary server with Adguard on it works. I assume some configuration on the original Adguard server broke because the OpenVPN on the secondary server still couldn't connect with my main server Adguard.

Yes, I think this will work (because from our experiments using 8.8.8.8 clearly worked).

Can you tell me what happened between being able to connect initially and not being able to later?

In the output where you can't connect, the DNS server is wrong 23.237.137.11 .

Also, out of curiosity, maybe you can also try to connect from your phone and see if you are able to connect. This will help identify if this is some openvpn client issue or some server side issue. I suspect something with Windows OpenVPN client.

I added the IP address of where my AdGuard is hosted.

23.237.137.11 is the ip of which both Adguard and OpenVPN are hosted at so i assumed it would be what i would put in OpenVPN's DNS.

I will try tho and report back

Ah nice, it does get the configuration correctly!

Its funny cuz now i can connect.

One thing to know is that these days browsers also have all sorts of DNS caching going on. So, best to restart browser to make sure we are testing things afresh.

So, the above line tells us that it got the internal DNS server correctly. So, far so good!

Next step: Disconnect from VPN. Then, go to the OpenVPN settings and put '8.8.8.8' as the DNS server. (https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/openvpn/#custom-dns-server) . Now, connect again.

Are you able to connect to VPN or is it that you are able to connect to VPN but unable to connect to any website? If you run ipconfig /all again now like before, what is the output ? (I am expecting the DNS Severs to be 8.8.8.8).

With the default OpenVPN app settings, please connect from Windows. After connecting, can you please check what it says the DNS server is? https://askleo.com/find-dns-server-used-pc/ says if you run ipconfig /all , it will display the DNS servers. Can you post what that command returns?

Also, I am not a Windows expert. TBH, I haven't even used Windows in many years, but I will try my best and let's see how far we get

Without any of this DNS stuff, does the OpenVPN app work for you with the defaults? I assumed it does, but I want to double check this. If it does work, can you tell me

a) where is your server hosted? Intranet or public cloud ? Anything special I need to know about the network?

b) which OS and vpn client are you connecting from ? This is important to debug further because all the commands I am giving you are for linux desktop.

I assume Intranet. Its a VPS with HostWorld. I have no idea if there is anything you need to know about the network.

The OS on my VPS is ubuntu-20.04-x86_64 and im using Windows 11 (Insider Edition, if that makes a difference).
