• Do you think "1-Click" deployment of wger might help make it a much more widely used applcation?

• Which other application would you like cloudron to support, something which might help you or wger?

• We tried quite hard to make sure our wger package would work well when wired up with other AI related applications, particularly the ones Cloudron already supports. Have you tried using wger alongside another Cloudron package to see how quickly you can do it and how easily it works?

@LoudLemur yes, I saw the notes. They all make sense, I'll try to fix them for the next version (specially the one about needing superuser rights for one of the migrations)

Sometimes users ask how to install the application on their NAS or other docker management system and since the config sometimes needs a bit of massaging and I haven't used that system, I can rarely help directly. So having a working 1-Click install is always useful!

Cloudron lets you install two applications gratis.

@LoudLemur thanks but finally it's not enough to work. Android Mobile app need powersync for offline sync to launch.

@tempinou Thanks, this is tricky but we are investigating it.

There is some hope. From packaging Langfuse and Windmill, we have learned a way to bundle postgresql. It will require a new, major version. We want to support you with this and will hopefully have it for you soon.

I'm probably missing something, but I'm intrigued as to why that is needed when there is a postgresql addon?

You are not missing much. The addon is the obvious choice and we'd prefer it. The catch is that PowerSync doesn't just use the database like wger does: it follows the database's change stream through Postgres logical replication, and the Cloudron addon doesn't enable that.

The shared server runs with wal_level=replica, and app database roles don't get the REPLICATION permission. Both are server-wide settings that an app package can't change, and flipping them by hand would affect every app on the box. So the only way for the package to provide PowerSync is to run its own PostgreSQL inside the app, as the Windmill and Langfuse packages already do, with backups still going through Cloudron.

@girish If Cloudron ever adds an addon option for logical replication, we could happily switch back to the addon. Any chance of that?

We have updated the wger package so that it will work with Android and LineageOS (and hopefully GrapheneOS).

If people have been able to use it on their device (particularly going offline, saving eg a workout session and then going online again) it would be good to have it confirmed. Would also be great to hear if people have managed to get wger going on LineageOS or GrapheneOS.

We hope everybody has been able to keep to their exercise regime.

FYI, it seems postgres 19 won't need the explicit "wal_level = replica", as it will automatically set it if there's a replication

Resolved Edit: removed from battery optimization and waited some minutes. First sync finally worked. Thanks
