Why the New OpenWebUI v0.13.0 + OpenTerminal Combo is an Absolute Game-Changer (Better than ChatGPT & Claude Desktop!)
-
I just wanted to share my absolute amazement with the latest OpenWebUI version v0.13.0. When combined with OpenTerminal, it delivers a powerhouse experience that easily stands toe-to-toe with—and honestly beats—ChatGPT and Claude Desktop for my workflow.
Just to be transparent about my setup: I am running OpenWebUI on Cloudron, but I run my OpenTerminal stack on a separate, dedicated server. If you don't combine these two, you are seriously missing out on what makes OpenWebUI so ground-breaking.
The development team has achieved an incredible engineering milestone. By seamlessly embedding a fully functional web browser and a complete XFCE Linux desktop—pre-loaded with LibreOffice and Jupyter Notebook—directly into the ecosystem, it completely redefines productivity. And it gets even better: I have also installed OpenCode inside it. Running this whole integration is mind-blowing; everything functions so smoothly without compromising performance.
The true magic of this setup is the sheer automation potential. With the integrated browser, XFCE desktop, and terminal all working in unison, you can build and deploy almost any AI agent you can think of. Whether you use OpenCode, Codex, or other frameworks, the agent can interact with the environment, run scripts, browse the web, and manage files autonomously.
At this point, the only limit is the hardware or VPS capacity you throw at it. You no longer need to switch between external tabs or separate local applications. Everything is contained within a single, unified, ultra-powerful ecosystem.
If you are running OpenWebUI on your Cloudron instance, I highly recommend hooking it up to an OpenTerminal stack (even on a separate server like mine). It elevates the UI from a simple AI wrapper into a robust, self-contained workstation. Huge credit to the devs for setting a brand-new standard for the open-source community!

Hello @firmansi
Sounds interesting, but it's hard to wrap my mind around all that.
Maybe you could share a small demo?
That would make it more understandable for me at least.
