WordPress Network / Multisite
-
Hello,
I'm trying to set up multisite on my WordPress app using subdomains, but don't seem to get it working.
I've successfully followed the steps on the WordPress Codex (https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network) using the subdomain option. However, even after setting up the wildcard record on my DNS provider, I'm unable to access the sites using their URL, such as siteX.blog.mydomain.com.
I guess it's related to the way Cloudron handles the subdomain I'm using for WordPress.
Is it possible to use a multisite on WordPress using Cloudron?
Thank you.

@ipedrolima Cloudron does not support multi-site wordpress. Maybe if you can explain to us your use case a bit, we can see if there is an alternate solution for Cloudron. Thanks!

Given the update to Cloudron 4, with a built-in SFTP server that provides access to application files, does that mean we might get multisite to work?

@ipedrolima Good point. In theory, this should be possible. Let us test this and get back. We might need some changes to the reverse proxy configuration to support multi site.

This sort of works but Cloudron needs some support for configuring the reverse proxy further for domain based multi-site setup - https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-multisite-with-nginx-on-ubuntu-14-04
I will leave this open so we can support this in a future release.

@jagan The feature is being discussed here - https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/3191/domain-aliases/22
