Hi folks.
Have you heard about workadventu.re? We want to try out if this app can meet our needs for a virtual meetup. If you are interested in getting in touch (and being part of the experiment), block the date.
More information will followWhen: this Friday Feb. 12 18:00 CET/UTC+1 check time in your timezone
Where: https://play.workadventure.cloudron.io
Important: use https and not http. I have not found out how the automatic redirection works.
As there is no formal agenda yet, please step in and offer something if you like. A lightning talk, something with music or dance, a live cooking session or a discussion on a Cloudron topic. We can set up the agenda directly in workadventure. Let's start with this topic in the kitchen around 18:15 (UTC+1)
The direct link to the kitchen is: https://jit.serv210107.safeserver.de/office-map-kitchen

Also interested! And it's free software, it's just a question of time before there's a new cloudron app request.

The workadventure instance is up and running. I have installed it gdpr compliant. No log files, no personal data. Same for the included jitsi instance. Both instances are running in german datacenters. Sorry, if you have latency issues. That's normal if you join from a different continent
The "hallway tracks" are build via WebRTC with up to 4 people. You can disable your cam & mic to not interact with other people. If you join a WebRTC session, be aware that you share your IP address with the other people. If you have trouble to connect via WebRTC it's mostly a problem with your firewall or network. Try out, if you can use mic & cam in jitsi rooms from inside workadventure.
Currently, workadventure is not accessible. Not for the blind and not for smartphone or tablet users. Sorry for that.
But you can join the jitsi rooms directly. If we decide to have a more formal meetup with talks, we will post the links in this thread. As there is no formal agenda yet, please step in and offer something if you like. @luckow Excited to attend! I messed up my timezone maths but it looks like you're 8 hours ahead of me so it'll be 10AM for me. I might be in and out of the meetup depending on how busy work is but thankfully I work from home

Me too! Indeed, I'm in there now having a look around!
Edit: and I think @nebulon just popped in too, but then he disappeared.

Was in there for about 10 minutes, had to leave to my full-time job as I had a meeting starting, haha. Very cool stuff! Love the idea of that app. Was nice to briefly meet some of you guys.

Not entirely certain who I bumped into but I was in there for a moment. This is a pretty cool app. Only complaint is the character limit for names is quite restricted... lol

Also I have a BBB instance I use for meetings with client that I can provide access to if we need something for future events. Its on the 3 core 4 GB shared instance with Hetzner so I am unsure about capacity but it should be ok?

@d19dotca yes was great to briefly see you @nebulon @luckow and @girish - and fun! What a great app. Looking forward to tomorrow!
It was me!

Yeah, I've also got an account on https://meet.coop too who have dedicated (I think) servers in Canada and Germany (yes, Hetzner). It's what @thetomester13 has been using for the recent app packaging "events"
But the more the merrier! I'd be interested to test how your instance compares the theirs
Are you using the Cloudron Greenlight app as the front end?

Is there a good way to keep in touch with people who were at the meeting today? I found some people on the forum here but wasn't sure who was who in some cases.
It was fun! Thanks!
@kaxline it is tough because it has a rather short character limit, but ideally we could just all use our usernames on there. Luckily my username is my first and last name :^)
