S3 storage and PeerTube
-
Hi!
It would be much less expensive for me to host PeerTube videos on S3 such as Vultr Object Storage. I see Cloudron supports Vultr Object Storage for backup. But am I able to add this object storage to my Cloudron instance as a volume and store videos by mounting it to the PeerTube app? Will this work in the stead of PeerTube's instructions (linked above) to add S3? Is it likely to be fast enough for video playback? Has anyone else done this or some other way rather than using expensive server instance storage (on Vultr I use a Cloud Compute instance which is sort of like AWS EC2)?I apologise if this is obvious or has been discussed elsewhere. I'm still learning to navigate containers and cloud storage and I don't know exactly what I don't know. I appreciate any thoughts and feedback.

Sounds to me like that should work (if volumes can be S3?) but if not you could just use a Hetzner Storage Box which is about the same price (cheaper, actually) https://www.hetzner.com/storage/storage-box

Ah, doesn't look like they can:

@jdaviescoates Thanks very much! I'll check out Hetzner going forward (though I'm not keen on switching hosting now!).
