I just discovered docs.plus which appears to be an awesome fork of Etherpad-Lite with a load of plugins plus some added UI/ UX improvements

works for me if I accepts the risks - certificate expired

so probably my browser is blocking it, doesn't allow me to accept risks. Will try different browser.
